About me

Welcome to "Father and Baker," a space where the precise world of science meets the delectable art of baking. I'm a father of two incredible daughters, currently residing in the vibrant Bay Area, California. By profession, I am a Scientist with a primary research focus on Cancer Genomics, delving into the complexities of the human genome in search of answers that may contribute to our understanding and treatment of cancer.

My journey into the world of baking was an unexpected but delightful detour from the rigors of scientific exploration. It all began when my eldest daughter sought solace in the kitchen, using baking as a therapeutic escape from the challenges of high school life. Eager to connect with her amidst her busy schedule, I joined her in the kitchen, turning our baking sessions into precious moments of shared laughter and joy.

The decision to take up baking wasn't just a way to spend quality time with my daughter—it became a personal form of therapy, a calming counterpoint to the unpredictable nature of my scientific endeavors. In the world of baking, I found solace in the simplicity of rules, precise measurements, and timed perfection—a stark contrast to the often ambiguous and rule-defying nature of cancer genomics.

Even as my daughters ventured off to college, I continued to find comfort and joy in the kitchen. Baking became more than a hobby; it became a way to unwind, a creative outlet where the precision and slow pace provided a welcome break from the intricacies of my professional life.

Beyond the kitchen, I am an enthusiast of multi-day hikes, mountaineering, camping, adventure sports, and the spirited world of college football. Join me on this eclectic journey where the precision of science meets the warmth of family and the sweetness of baking, creating a unique blend of flavors that define "Father and Baker."
